The Easter Egg Parade

I was able to finish this egg during classtime. Again all of the pearls were added one by one.

Summertime

On each side of the Summertime egg there are glitter lace panels with gold braid , two toned braided ribbon and porcelin flowers attached.

Summertime

Here I am in class and working on my egg. This one is called Summertime. It is painted pearl white on the outside and has a lace glitter panel on the sides. the inside of the egg is painted with a nature scene in the background and has a pond lined with small pebbles to feature rocks.

A look at the inside of the egg.

Heart's Delight

This egg was a delight to do and was one of my second eggs to do.When the egg is opened it reveals burgandy velvet lining with burgandy ribbon sides. The outside of this egg is painted with pearl white paint that is used for ceramics. ( It does not have to be fired) It has floral transfers , gold silk jap rope, pastel two tone braided ribbon, one row of rhinestone chain and individually placed , one by one , 1.5mm white pearls. This took me approximately 6 hours of class time and another 3 hours of home time.

Welcome home Chris!

As most of you know , Chris is serving downrange in Iraq. He got to come home for 15 days in January and we got to spend some quality time together. He looked great and had lost 30 pounds! I think I gained what he lost!

We celebrated Christmas , I left up our tree, and we opened gifts from our family together. It is the only holiday that we have been able to celebrate together , but it was loads of fun. The time went by too fast and January 30th came to soon. The good thing about it , was he passed the 7 month mark when he left and now time seems to be passing by faster. As of today, he will have 3 months and 21 days left to serve in Iraq and will be home around the first week of July! Yahoo!!! I can't wait for him to be home !

I know all of you have been waiting patiently for me to post new pictures of my eggs and now that my time is more my own, I will be posting some new pictures this weekend. It also helps that I am finally figuring out how to post all the things on here. Technology, where have I been when I needed to be figuring this stuff out! Oh , I remember now, traveling around Europe, antiqueing and seeing the sights!!! Oh and going to Egg classes!

I have a few that are now finished and will be putting those on my page. I am also in the works of posting a step by step procedure of how I do this from start to finish.

Thanks everyone, for your words of encouragement while Chris is away and thank you for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. We are so blessed to ahve such caring friends that help us thru all these rough times apart from each other. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we love you all! God bless !

Love , Angie

Happy New Year Everyone !

Well , 2007 has come and gone and now we are finally into 2008! I'm so looking forward to the 15th of January, my hubby, Chris is coming home for 15 days! He's been gone , as you all know to Iraq for the last 6 months and has six months left to go. The time seems to be flying by right now and I only hope it stops when he gets here and allows us some time together! Our plan is to have a 'Romantic Christmas for Two" when he gets home. I'm keeping the tree up with a few gifts under the tree for each of us. The best gift of all to me , is that Chris is still safe and healthy considering where he is right now. That , I feel was my Christmas blessing for 2007.

I hope all of you have had a wonderful holiday season and are looking forward to a great 2008! I know how life can fly by so quickly. The year 2007 certianly did for us!

As a mom, I have to brag about my son Jeromie and his career. He has done so well for himself and has had a very busy year with drag racing. He was the crew chief for Eggum Racing and they have made the big times. He has been wokring for the Eggum Team for the last 3 years and it has been a great success story for all involved. His girl friend, Stephanie Eggum is the driver for the team and Lord knows that takes guts to do! They both have been featured in numerous magazines and on TV on ESPN 2 . We are so proud of them! Stephanie just got her Top Fuel Drivers License and will now be selling the car and racing a much bigger car. Jeromie has taken a job in New Jersey with another race team and we look forward to a successful year for him there.

Jeromie left on New Years day and is headed for New Jersey to join the Gardella Race Team there. He is looking forward to the move and we are looking forward to seeing him take that and running with it! The only bad thing is he and Stephanie will be apart.I know he will be fine, as always, and we can't wait to see him in more sports car magazines . It's nice going to the store and seeing your son featured in a magazine for a job well done. If you are into racing please look for him on ESPN or the SPEED channel. We will be so happy to get back to America so we can watch them on TV or GO to the races and be involved with the team! Jeromie, we wish you best for 2008!

Jamie , our oldest son is also in the car business. He has a car shop called Complete Customs and restores or customizes cars. He's also a single father and takes care of our grandson's Brady and Tracy who are 12 and 9. They are both honor students and are busy with hobbies and school activities. Which keeps Jamie , pretty busy. Thank goodness , he has his friend Shelby to help him out. She is such a special lady in his life and we are so lucky to have her in it! Thanks Shelby for all the support and freindship you give to Jamie and the boys. We love you!

Jamie's business has taken off and is now keeping him extremely busy. We wish you nothing but a very successful year son! We are so proud of you! Good luck in 2008!
My Mom has made the move into the computer generation and is successfully learning how to use the internet and computer. Chris and I gave my mom our old laptop and at the age of 68, is using it! She has never had a computer course in her life and is doing great with it! Mom, I am so proud of you for all you have done this year! I know that it has been hard for you with Dad being in Heaven, but you have come so far! She is also very involved with the Susan Komen Breast Cancer walks and went to Dallas, Texas for the 3 day walk event there this year and served on the security committee. You are doing great! Thanks Mom , for the Breast cancer scarf and Tshirt.
We had a new addition to our family this year, Joe Harrison Griggs. My sister Ami and her hubby, Dan had their first child in November. He's a cutie! Congrats Ami and Dan and we can't wait to get back home to see and hold him.
At the top you will see pictures of our family. The pictures are of Jeromie and the Eggum Race Team and of Me, my son oldest son, Jamie my mom , Cathy and our two grandson's , Brady and Tracy. Someday. I'll figure out how to use the computer and put the names by the pictures! Wish me luck on that one!

That about sums up our New Years for me . I look forward to sharing more of my family adventures with you and on all our success's for the year 2008!

Happy New Years everyone!

Welcome

Welcome to my world of Egg Decorating. I hope you will stop by and enjoy the art of decorating eggs. I started the craft two years ago after I moved here to England. The first time I ever saw one of the decorated goose eggs , I fell in love with them. I was at my friend, Donna's home and saw the one her mother, Coral had made for her. It was one of the most amazing things I'd seen! A real egg made to look like a little jewlery box only it was in the shape of an egg.

Donna is originally from England and now lives in America with her husband , Kevin. My husband , Chris and I moved to England and now live in her hometown or village as we say here in England . When Donna's parents visited America, we got to meet them and now we live in her home village! My husband's job brought us here to England and when we arrived her parents became our great friends and extended family.

Coral and Ray invited us over to their home one evening and my whole world of crafting changed! She had a china cabinet full of all sorts of eggs and I was totolly amazed and couldn't keep from looking at them . She had eggs that opened up , some with music boxes, some with lights and some so delicate that you wondered how did she do that! I told her I would love to do that someday and she told me when a class came up, she would call me. She did and now two years later, I'm decorating my own eggs and have them in my own china cabinet.

I hope you will visit and see the eggs I've decorated and follow me in my adventures as I find new ways to decorate a goose egg! Or any egg for that matter! Thank you for stopping in! Cheers as we say here in England!
